Maidenhead clothing repairs and alterations store The Zip Yard has a new base in the town.

Franchise owner Dijay Soni and his three-strong team of skilled seamstresses have made the switch to Nicholsons Shopping Centre from the High Street, where they’d been based since 2012.

“We’re thrilled with our new premises in Kings Walk Mall – we’ve got more space for storage, customer changing rooms and sewing machines and an excellent location opposite Tesco.” – said Mr Soni.

“The feedback we’ve had so far has been positive and we’re looking forward to welcoming back existing clients and attracting new customers over the coming months.”

As the UK’s largest garment alteration company, The Zip Yard is on a mission to encourage more people to repair, alter and upcycle clothes to extend their life and prevent them from being sent to landfill.

“Our message is don’t throw clothes away just because they have a button missing or a small tear, need a new zip or don’t fit perfectly anymore. We have lots of ideas to give tired or dated garments a new lease of life and can also alter pre-loved items bought in charity or vintage shops.”

In a move to further reduce waste, The Zip Yard Maidenhead has introduced biodegradable plastic bags that are 100% compostable.
